9 TO 5 MUSICAL

9 to 5 the musicalDolly Parton's 9 to 5: The Musical is based on the 1980 movie of the same name starring Dolly, with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. It has music and lyrics by Dolly ranging from rockabilly to rhythm and blues, and features a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the screenplay by Resnick and Colin Higgins.

The musical premiered in Los Angeles in September 2008, and opened on Broadway in April 2009. It received 15 Drama Desk Award nominations, the most received by a production in a single year, as well as four Tony Awards nominations. It last toured the UK in 2012/13 wiith Selladoor productions just announcing they are producing it at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End in 2019.

9 to 5 The Musical is a story of friendship, gossip and revenge of three office workers (Doralee, Violet and Judy) who turn the tables on their sexist, egotistical, lying, bigot of a boss. They conspire to take control of the company and learn there's nothing they can't do - even in a man's world.

The cast includes Bonnie Langford as Roz Keith until 11 January 2020, Caroline Sheen as Violet Newstead (the Lily Tomlin part), Love Island’s Amber Davies is Judy Bernly (Jane Fonda) and Natalie McQueen is Doralee Rhodes - the part played by Dolly Parton - with Brian Conley as the boss Franklyn J Hart until 30th November with featured ensemble members Christopher Jordan Marshall/Joe, Rhiane Drummond/Kathy, Ashford Campbell/Dwayne, Demmileigh Foster/ Maria, Llandyll Gove/Dick, Lucinda Lawrence/Margaret, Sean Needham/Tinsworthy and Giles Surridge/Josh with ensemble members Alexander Bartles, Jacob Maynard, James Royden-Lyley, Jenny Legg, Natasha Mould, Sasha Wareham and swings Victoria Anderson, Simon Campell, Jon Reynolds and Emily Woodford.

Cast change; Chelsea Halfpenny will be the  new Judy from 27th August. She will play the role from 27th-29th August and will be full time from Tuesday 2nd September.  Bonnie Langford, Brian Conley, Caroline Sheen and Natalie McQueen will extend their runs as ‘Roz Keith’, ‘Franklin Hart Jnr’, ‘Violet Newstead’ and ‘Doralee Rhodes’. Bonnie, Caroline and Natalie will all appear in the show until 11 January 2020 and Brian will appear in the show until 30 November 2019.

From 2nd September, the cast at the Savoy Theatre will include Victoria Anderson, Alexander Bartles, Simon Campbell, Alexander Day, Rhiane Drummond, Demmileigh Foster, Molly-May Gardiner, Llandyll Gove,  Ben Irish, Jenny Legg, Natasha Mould, Jon Reynolds, James Royden-Lyley, Giles Surridge, Antoine Thomas-Sturge, Richard Taylor-Woods, Sasha Wareham and Emily Woodford.

The musical will be directed by Jeff Calhoun, with choreography by Lisa Stevens, set and costume design by Tom Rogers, lighting design by Howard Hudson, musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Mark Crossland, musical direction by Andrew Hilton.

Radio receivers with headsets – collect from Cloakroom at Dress Circle level. Please book in advance, deposit required.
Guide dogs allowed in the auditorium or staff will dog-sit by prior arrangement office. Dogs will be looked after in the Manager’s Office.
No steps to Box Office through 3 sets of double doors which open inwards. Box Office counter is to right. From a door beside the foyer entrance there are 2 steps into the Upper Circle. 33 steps down to Dress Circle (2 steps between rows), 71 down to Stalls. Staircases have handrails on both sides. Separate entrance for wheelchair users or special needs at street level via a ramp from Carting Lane.
