ASPECTS OF LOVE
Based on David Garnett’s novel the musical tells the story of passion, love and loss across three generations of a family and their companions set against the background of 1940’s France and Italy. Alex Dillingham (played by Michael Arden) is a young student travelling through France who falls in love with the alluring actress Rose Vibert (Katherine Kingsley).
As the pair start a passionate affair, the unexpected arrival of Alex’s uncle changes their lives forever. A love story spanning twenty years binding six people and three generations as they come to appreciate that love changes everything.
Katherine Kingsley was nominated for an Olivier Award for her role as Marlene Dietrich in Piaf. Credits include Sylvia Hamilton/Shell/Edward R Murrow in The Truth Will Out (Old Vic US/UK exchange); Tracy Lord in High Society (Shaftesbury Theatre/National Tour) and Mary in Memory of Water (Bristol Old Vic).
Michael Arden is making his London stage debut having starred in numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway Shows and in 2007 toured Europe with Barbra Streisand. Theatre credits include Big River, The Times They Are A-Changin’, Bare, God of Vengeance, The Common Pursuit and As You Like It.
Other casting includes Dominic Tighe (ex- member of classical quartet Blake), Martyn Ellis,Louise Lydell, Dave Willetts as George, Rosalie Craig as Giulietta, Rebecca Brewer (making her professional stage debut) as Jenny along with Jill Armour, Ian McLarnon, David Roberts, Savannah Stevenson and Rebecca Trehearn.
Trevor Nunn returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory to direct the first major London revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black and Charles Hart's Aspects of Love.
Aspects of Love is designed by David Farley, choreographed by Lynne Page with lighting by Paul Pyant, musical supervision by Caroline Humphris, orchestrations by David Cullen and sound by Gareth Owen.

Wheelchair access into the building is via our main entrance on Southwark Street. The theatre can take one wheelchair per performance, located at the front of the auditorium with an excellent view of the stage. There will always be at least one space available next to the wheelchair space for a companion. |
