SOUL SISTER TOUR
Soul Sister is a new musical about Ike and Tina Turner which opened at the Savoy Theatre last August.
It stars Emi Wokoma as Tina Turner and recently had a successful run at the Hackney Empire.
The musical follows the highs and lows, passions and heartbreak of Ike and Tina Turner as their careers blossomed and their marriage crumbled. It features classic numbers including What's Love Got to Do with It, Proud Mary, Private Dancer and River Deep Mountain High.
Emi Wokoma’s stage credits include Hairspray, one of the Ronettes in Little Shop of Horrors and in Trevor Nunn’s Porgy and Bess’ at the Savoy. Chris Tummings will star as ‘Ike Turner’. His many stage roles include in Stratford East’s The Harder They Come and The Big Life and in Indhu Rubasingham’s Fabulation at the Tricycle.
The show is devised by Pete Brooks and John Miller. Directed by Pete Brooks and Bob Eaton, designed by Laura Hopkins, lighting by Nick Richings, choreography and musical staging by Jason Pennycooke.
