PASSION

Passion at Donmar Warehouse Captain Giorgio Bachetti is a a military hero and when he is transferred to a strange and remote Italian outpost a long way away from his beloved Clara, he encounters Fosca whose influence has shattering consequences.

The musical Passion examines the power of love in a haunting story of desire, sacrifice and redemption. It  reunites director Jamie Lloyd with Argentinean actress Elena Roger playing Fosca.

Other cast members are Scarlet Strallen and David Thaxton with an all-male supporting ensemble of Simon Bailey, David Birrell, Allan Corduner, Ross Dawes, Iwan Lewis, Tim Morgan and Haydn Oakley.

Scarlett Strallen has appeared in the Music Man at Chichester, and played Mary Poppins in the West end opposite Gavin Creel who is playing Claude in the new production of Hair at the Gielgud Theatre.

David Thaxton has most recently been playing Enjolras in Les Miserables at the Queen’s Theatre. Playing Giorgio in Passion will be his first major leading role. 

Rehearsals start on 2nd August with Sondheim attending.  He has been collaborating with Lloyd and wants to distil some of the material to make the piece more “dangerous and sexy”.

DISABLED ACCESS TO THE HAYMARKET

There is an infrared hearing system in the main auditorium, please collect headsets from the Box Office
Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome in the auditorium, please request an aisle seat when you book. Or staff are happy to dog sit for you.

The Donmar is wheelchair accessible. There is a step from Earlham Street into the foyer which a member of staff will place a portable ramp over. Or there is level access through Thomas Neal's shopping until 18:30

On the circle level there is an accessible toilet for the priority use of disabled customers.
