MATTHEW BOURNE'S NUTCRACKER! TOUR

Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker!Matthew Bourne’s take on Nutcracker! is full of his trademark wit, pathos and magical fantasy. It follows Clara’s bittersweet journey from a bleak Christmas Eve at Dr Dross’ Orphanage for waifs and strays, until the Nutcracker appears and you are transported through a shimmering, ice-skating, winter wonderland to the scrumptious candy kingdom of Sweetieland.

Tchaikovsky’s score and Olivier Award-winning designer Anthony Ward’s unforgettable sets and costumes combine with great choreography to create a fresh, hip and charmingly irreverent interpretation of a traditional favourite.

Hannah Vassallo who recently appeared as Baby in the West End production of Dirty Dancing will play Clara. Chris Trenfield, Adam Maskell and Edwin Ray will perform Nutcracker. Sugar will be performed by Ashley Shaw, Sophia Hurdley and Chloe Wilkinson and her brother Fritz will be played by Dominic North and Daniel Collins.

Other casting includes Neil Westmoreland & Daniel Wright/Dr Dross: Madelaine Brennan, Etta Murfitt & Daisy May Kemp/Mrs Dross/Matron plus Phil Jack Gardner, Tom Jackson Greaves, Carrie Johnson, Nicole Kabera, Mari Kamata, Dena Lague, Katy Lowenhoff, Kate Lyons, Jamie McDonald, Luke Murphy, Gavin Persand, Alistair Postlethwaite, Danny Reubens, Merry Holden, Matrina Lyndon, Leon Moran and Liam Mower who was London's first ‘Billy Elliot' and the youngest person ever to win an Olivier Award.

Matthew Bourne has achieved worldwide success with imaginative new stagings of popular classics such as Swan Lake, The Car Man, Cinderella and Edward Scissorhands. His work on the hit musical, Mary Poppins won him his fifth Olivier Award and he co-directed the West End smash hit Oliver!
