Michael Longhurst's production of Caroline, or Change is to transfer into the West End opening  at the Playhouse Theatre on 20th November.

Written by Tony Kushner and composer Jeanine Tesori the musical offers a pot pourri of  music including spirituals, blues, Motown, classical music, Jewish klezmer and folk. The show originally opened at Chichester Festival Theatre starring  Sharon D Clarke who will be reprising her role as Caroline Thibodeaux, who works as a poorly paid maid in 1960's Louisiana for the Gellman family . Set in 1963 with President Kennedy, with the Civil Rights movement and social change backdrops the show is about a woman who doesn’t like to compromise, in an era when change is happening very fast.

She will be joined by Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Keisha Amponsa Banson, Alastair Brookshaw, Me'sha Bryan, Angela Caesar, Dujonna Gift-Simms, Sue Kelvin, Teddy Kempner, Ako Mitchell, Abiona Omonua, Vincent Pirillo, Tanisha Spring and Lauren Ward with Cassiopeia Berkeley-Agyepong, Zalika Henry, Laura Medforth, Timothy Quinlan and Teddy Wills.

Nine young performers have been cast in the roles of Noah, Jackie and Joe. Isaac Forward, Aaron Gelkoff and Jack Meredith will alternate the role of Noah, Mark Mwangi, Kenya Sandy and Jeremiah Waysome will alternate the role of Jackie and the role of Joe will be alternated by Josiah Choto, David Dube and Raphael Higgins-Hume.

There are 3 steps into foyer through double doors - a ramp is available. There are wheelchair spaces at rows H and G in the Stalls - a companion can sit in next to the customer. There are a further 6 transfer spaces available
