BLOOD BROTHERS

Blood Brothers MEL C of The Spice Girls is making her theatrical debut in Willy Russell's Blood Brothers. Melanie C appears as Mrs Johnstone until 24th April.

Willy Russell’s legendary West End smash hit is one of the longest running shows in musical history. Mel C will follow in the footsteps of Barbara Dickson, Kiki Dee, Carole King and Helen Reddy in the year that Blood Brothers celebrates its 21st birthday at London’s Phoenix Theatre.

Other casting at the Phoenix Theatre includes Philip Stewart as the Narrator, Stephen Palfreman (Mickey), Richard Reynard (Eddie), Vivienne Carlyle (Mrs Lyons), Owen Oldroyd (Mr Lyons), Louise Clayton (Linda) and Michael Southern as Sammy.

Blood Brothers is a moving tale of Liverpudlian twins who are separated at birth and grow up on opposite sides of the tracks. When they do finally discover one another the musical takes you through the pressing social issues of inequality and employment until it ends with tragic consequences.

The haunting score includes "Bright New Day", "Marilyn Monroe" and the emotional hit "Tell Me It’s Not True"

Book, music & lyrics by Willy Russell. Directed by Willy Russell, sets designed by Marty Flood .
