TOM CHAMBERS

 

Tom ChambersTom Chambers is probably best known for playing Sam Strachan in the BBC medical drama Holby City as well as being the winner of the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008 with his partner Camilla Dallerup. The pair subsequently appeared on the 2009 Strictly Come Dancing Tour dancing the quickstep and samba.

Chambers trained at the National Youth Music Theatre and Guildford School of Acting.

His interest in dance led him to recreate the sequence when Fred Astaire tap dances with a drum kit from the 1937 film A Damsel in Distress. This video was sent to casting directors who gave him a part in Holby City where he stayed for three years

In May 2009 he joined the fifth series of BBC drama, Waterloo Road as Executive Head Teacher Max Tyler. Tom appeared in White Christmas at Sunderland Empire. He has starred opposite Matthew Rhys and Kate Ashfield in the British film Fakers.

He has recently been starring in a new musical version of the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie Top Hat which has been on tour is now playing in London's West End.
