REECE SHEARSMITH

 

Reece ShearsmithReece Shearsmith is an English actor and writer who is most famous for his work as part of The League of Gentlemen along with fellow performers Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and co-writer Jeremy Dyson.

He has appeared in a number of comedy projects including Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere and Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer comedy Catterick. He also appeared in two episodes of the award-winning pop-culture comedy Spaced and in the BBC 2 sitcom TLC.

Theatre work includes: (July 2005) Appearing as Jacques in As You Like It at Wyndham's Theatre:  (October-December 2005) UK tour of The League of Gentlemen Are Behind You: from March 2006 to January 2007 he appeared in London’s West End as Leo Bloom in the Mel Brooks’ musical The Producers and in April 2010 he was The Narrator in The Rocky Horror Show at the New Theatre Hull.

Shearsmith hast just appeared opposite Sarah Lancashire in the new Cameron Mackintosh musical Betty Blue Eyes at the Novello Theatre. It is based on Alan Bennett's film A Private Function when his part was played by Michael Palin.
