RAY QUINN

Ray QuinnRay Quinn is an actor, singer and dancer who was born in Liverpool. He was heavily influenced by his dance coach during his early years at school and went on to study Performing Arts at Merseyside Dance and Drama College.

He is an accomplished dancer winning a number of competitions including British Disco Champion and British Champion, European Champion and Word Latin Champion in ballroom dancing.

As a child actor in 2000 he started a three-year stint on the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside. His work as troubled teen Anthony Murray earned him a 2002 Inside Soap Award as Best Young Actor.

In 2006 Quinn took part in the third series of UK talent show The X Factor where he was runner up to Leona Lewis. After the show he went on The X Factor UK and Ireland Tour in February and March 2007 and was signed earlier that year by Sony BMG and recorded a swing album Ray Quinn: Doing It My Way which went straight to number one in the UK charts and went Gold in the first week.

Since appearing in the X Factor Ray has played Doody in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre and is due play Billy Kostecki in Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre on 26th July.

He also won the fourth series of British TV contest Dancing On Ice in 2009 and joined the other contestants on the Torvill and Dean Tour.
