OLIVER THORNTON

Oliver Thornton

Oliver Thornton was born in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. He studied classical ballet at an early age and trained as a musical theatre actor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts: graduating in 2001 with a BA honours degree.  

Oliver was given his break playing the role of Rusty in the 2006 UK tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express. (he had previously played Caboose in Germany).  

Other theatre roles include Harrison in Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre, Enjolras in Les Miserables at the Palace and Queen’s Theatres, Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre) and Mark in Rent

Film includes: Leo in Godforsaken and De-Lovely (biopic of Cole Porter). 

Oliver has also sung with theatreland’s super group Teatro during their live performances throughout the UK and Europe. 

Oliver has recently been playing the role of Adam/Felicia in the musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Palace Theatre in London’s West End.  In the film of the same name this is the role of the flamboyant drag queen who took Guy Pearce from Neighbours to Hollywood. 

He has just finished playing Frank n'Furter in the 40th Anniversary Tour of the Rocky Horror Show.
