KIMBERLEY WALSH

 

Kimberley WalshKimberley Walsh rose to fame as a member of pop girl band Girls Aloud which was formed as a result of ITV’s reality television programme Popstars The Rivals in late 2002.

The girl band have over twenty consecutive top ten singles (including four number ones) in the UK and five BRIT Award nominations from 2005 to 2010.

Walsh starred as Young Cosette in the West End production of Les Misérables and starred in ITV's The Book Tower. She also attended the Bradford based theatre school Stage 84 and taught there.

 Before joining Girls Aloud, she worked in theatre and television.  In 2000 she appeared in the television series This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper as Gillian Oldfield, and starred in a BBC Educational Schools programme called Focus. In 2001 she appeared alongside her fellow band mates in the St. Trinian's movie. She appeared in her own documentary Blue Jean Girl for Sky 1 in June 2010 and presented a new music talk-show called Suck My Pop, on Viva.

 Walsh has said that she would like to star in a musical and is currently appearing in Shrek the Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane playing the role of Princess Fiona.
