JODIE PRENGER

Jodie Prenger

Jodie Prenger was born in Blackpool in Lancashire and shot to fame when she won the part of Nancy in BBC’s I'd Do Anything in May 2008. She was also the winner of the second series of The Biggest Loser on Living in 2006.

She has performed extensively on the cabaret circuit in Northern England. Her first appearance on television was in 1999 when she appeared on A Taste for Travel on Granada Television and in 2000 she took part in the Dale Winton show The Other Half on BBC1 when she had to pretend to be the wife of boxer Chris Eubank.

Later that year she played the role of the good witch Hurricane in a non-skating role in Halloween Spectacular On Ice at Alton Towers in Staffordshire.

In 2001 she spent eight months as one of four principals in a team of 19 entertainers aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship.

Jodie won the second series of The Biggest Loser in 2006 starting the show as a size 22 and weighing 115 kg. During the series she lost over 51 kg and slimmed down to a size 10 before settling at a size 14/16. She won £25,000.

Because there were a few months to spare before she went into rehearsal for Nancy in Oliver! Cameron Mackintosh gave her a role in Les Miserables in London’s West End to help her reinforce her stagecraft.

She appeared as a special guest star on John Barrowman’s latest concert tour and has been playing the The Lady of the Lake in the tour of Monty Python's Spamalot.

She has recently been appearing in One Man Two Guvnors in London's West End and is playing Calamity Jane on a tour of a musical of the same name this year.
