an american in parisThe spectacular Tony® Award-winning  Broadway hit musical An American in Paris has  transferred into London's  Dominion Theatre.

The reimagining of the 1951 Oscar winning film starring Gene Kelly, featuring some of the greatest music and lyrics ever written by George and Ira Gershwin, acclaimed director/ choreographer and 2015 Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon is coming to the UK  with Ashley Day and British Royal Ballet soloist Leanne Cope  leading  a company of over 50 actors, dancers and musicians including Julie Legrand as Madame Baurel, Haydn Oakley as Henri Baurel, as well as David Seadon-Young and Zoë Rainey.

The company also features Julian Forsyth and Ashley Andrews, Sophie Apollonia, Zoe Arshamian, Sarah Bakker, James Barton, Alicia Beck, Chrissy Brooke, James Butcher, Jonathan Caguioa, Jennifer Davison, Katie Deacon, Rebecca Fennelly, Sebastian Goffin, Alyn Hawke, Nicky Henshall, Genevieve Heron, Amy Hollins, Frankie Jenna, Justin-Lee Jones, Robin Kent, Kristen McGarrity, Julia J. Nagle, Daniela Norman, Aaron Smyth, Todd Talbot, Max Westwell, Jack Wilcox, Carrie Willis, Stuart Winter and Liam Wrate.

Jerry Mulligan is an American GI striving to make it as a painter in a city suddenly bursting with hope and possibility. Following a chance encounter with a beautiful young dancer named Lise Dassin , the streets of Paris become the backdrop to a romance of art, friendship and love.

It features many of George and Ira Gershwin’s most popular and timeless numbers , including I Got Rhythm, ’S Wonderful and They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Concerto in F and An American in Paris.

Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Craig Lucas, the production features set and costume designs by seven-time Tony® Award-winner Bob Crowley (The Audience; Mary Poppins); projections by  British designers 59 Productions (War Horse; London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony); Tony® Award-winning orchestrations by Christopher Austin, Don Sebesky and Bill Elliott; sound by Jon Weston and lighting by Natasha Katz, who won her fifth Tony® Award for this production.

Infra-red system 10 headsets and 10 neck loops available. Ask the duty manager upon arrival at the theatre.
Guide dogs are permitted inside the auditorium
Platform lift down 10 steps. 3 spaces for wheelchair users at XX50, YY50, ZZ50 (the last 2 on a slight slope). Transfer seating to any aisle seat. People with motorised wheelchairs or wheelchairs (maximum of 3) can go in Box B the entrance is to the side of the theatre on Bainbridge Street.
